View All Support ResourcesWhat makes the 384×288 detector different from entry-level cameras?
110,592 genuine measurement pixels — about 40% more than 320×240 — each a direct sensor reading. Combined with a 17 μm ceramic-packaged detector and 40 mK thermal sensitivity, the TK6 captures finer thermal detail with lower noise, especially in low-contrast scenes where budget sensors struggle.
How does focus-free at 384×288 compare to manual focus?
The TK7 pairs professional-grade 384×288 resolution with a focus-free 49°×37° wide-angle lens. You sweep large areas without touching a focus ring, and the resolution is high enough to catch anomalies that lower-res cameras miss. If your day is about coverage and speed moving between panels, ducts, and building envelopes — the TK7 workflow is faster without sacrificing image quality. For extreme close-up PCB work, the TK6's manual focus is the better fit.
What connectivity and remote control options does it have?
- Dual-band WiFi — stream live thermal images to a phone, tablet, or PC
- GPS geotagging — automatically tag each image with location data for route documentation
- EasyIR mobile app — remote control and image transfer from your phone
- IRExplorer web interface — control the camera from any browser, no software install needed
- Panoramic Stitching — scan large areas and stitch multiple frames into one wide thermal image
Can it record video, not just still images?
Yes — and this is a major differentiator. In addition to standard MP4, the TK7 records Radiometric Video in IRS/IRSX format, where every pixel in every frame stores full temperature data. Review any moment of the recording in AnalyzIR® Professional software — re-measure, adjust emissivity, or export frame-by-frame. This is essential for transient fault analysis: a breaker that trips for half a second, a bearing that spikes under load.
What battery setup does it come with?
The standard TK7 package includes TWO 5000 mAh field-replaceable lithium batteries — each providing 4+ hours of continuous operation. With both charged, you have a full workday covered without reaching for a power bank. Hot-swap in seconds on-site.
What advanced imaging technologies are built in?
Powered by an Android-based platform, the TK7 includes FOTRIC's full imaging stack:
- T-TWB® — adaptive color mapping for scenes with large temperature differences
- IREdge — contour sharpening for clearer object definition
- T-DEF® Blend — thermal and 8 MP visual fusion, 0%–100% adjustable
- Super Resolution — software enhancement for even finer detail beyond native 384×288
